Forsaken: A Novel of Horror
Forsaken: A Novel of Horror
Some art takes on a life of its own.
A beautiful house. A loving family. Two kids, a dog, and a tenure-track professorship teaching art at the local university. Dan Rineheart is living the dream. But all dreams must end.
When an anonymous painting arrives at the university, Dan is tasked with uncovering the artist. No title. No name. No signature or frame. It’s a disturbing work of grotesque perfection. A work of art… that changes with each viewing.
So begins the nightmare. Where painted clocks tick-tock in the dark hours before dawn. Where shadow-wrapped children stalk the halls of a once happy home. Where all paths lead to a forsaken artist and their impossible creation. This is the nightmare Dan Rineheart must enter before it shatters his sanity and devours his family.
Curl up with a novel of psychological horror that readers have called: “Intricate, disturbing, unexpected, and scary!”
This is a fantastic horror novel. I couldn't stop reading it. Very well written and scary and suspenseful. Just read it! You won't be disappointed.
Now one of my favorites. I really liked his By The Light of Dead Stars as well as it was fun adventure “Stranger Things” kind of horror but The Forsaken was on another level for me.
I listened to the audiobook for Forsaken. I enjoyed this book the best out of the four I’ve read of Andrew’s so far. Definitely a good twist at the end. Daniel and David’s story is very interesting and keeps you engaged to the very end.
I just finished Forsaken by Andrew Van Wey, and it has left me with a total book hangover. This book was SO GOOD!Van Wey described the book as “A novel of Art, Evil & Insanity”, and that really is the best way to explain it.It’s dark and compelling and sucks you in from the start. I found myself wanting to return to the story when I was working or doing other things. For me that’s a big tell of how much I’m enjoying a book.I listened to the audio version, which was narrated by Tom Jordan. If you’re not familiar with Tom’s narration you’re missing out. His smooth voice is the perfect partner to Van Wey’s books. Tom’s voice makes me feel like I’m watching a movie. Speaking of, this book would make a fantastic movie! Someone please make that happen!
One of the best novels that I have read in a long time! Highly recommend this book if you love suspense! Such a great ending!
